Le 5 Terre o Parco Nazionale delle 5 Terre, sorgono lungo la frastagliata costa della Riviera Ligure di Levante. Dal 1997 Le 5 Terre fanno parte della lista dei Patrimonio dell’umanità dell'Unesco, con la motivazione: “La riviera ligure orientale delle Cinque Terre è un paesaggio culturale di valore eccezionale che rappresenta l'armoniosa interazione stabilitasi tra l'uomo e la natura per realizzare un paesaggio di qualità eccezionale, che manifesta un modo di vita tradizionale millenario e che continua a giocare un ruolo socioeconomico di primo piano nella vita della società” Grazie alle caratteristiche geografiche del loro territorio, le Cinque Terre sono considerate una delle più suggestive attrattive italiane ed europee. Nel loro contesto orografico collinare naturalmente aspro e accidentato, nei punti in cui il mare si insinua serpentinamente nella terra sorgono i borghi di: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola e Riomaggiore. Il territorio e’ disseminato di sentieri che permettono di passare da un borgo all’altro attraversando tutte le meraviglie paesaggistiche. L'opera dell'uomo, nei secoli, ha modellato il territorio costruendo i famosi terrazzamenti sul mare, dovuti alla particolare tecnica agricola dei muretti a secco, tesa a sfruttare per quanto possibile i terreni posti in forte pendenza che digrada verso il mare, così da creare uno dei più caratteristici e affascinanti paesaggi della Liguria. Sulle terrazze a picco sul mare si coltivano vitigni, sostanzialmente uve bianche come bosco, albarola, trebbiano e vermentino, da cui si ottengono produzioni vinicole di qualità come il vino DOC “ CINQUE TERRE “ ed il famoso vino passito Sciachetra’. partendo da ovest possiamo ammirare: Monterosso: La più occidentale e grande delle 5 Terre; si trovano spiagge, ristoranti, negozi di artigianato locale e piccoli locali dove poter assaggiare i prodotti tipici locali. Vernazza : Ricca dal punto di vista paesaggistico, con il suo piccolo porto di pescatori ed i molteplici ristoranti dove assaggiare il pescato fresco di giornata. Corniglia : Arroccata sopra una roccia alta quasi 100 metri, affacciandosi sul mare offre un panorama impareggiabile. Manarola e Riomaggiore: molto simili fra loro ma di certo non meno caratteristiche. I due paesi si sviluppano dall’alto della collina, digradando verso il mare in una valle stretta e lunga che segue il corso del fiume. Le case variopinte costruite sulle due sponde rocciose danno una particolarità unica.

Cinque Terre or The National Park of Cinque Terre is located on the indented Eastern coast of the Ligurian Riviera. Since 1997 this area has been recognised as a UNESCO world heritage site. The Eastern Ligurian coast of Cinque Terre is a cultural landscape that offers exceptional value. The villages represent the harmonious interaction between man and nature. The landscape was purposefully created and still today while emphasising a traditional way of life, continues to play a very important role In the life of the people who live there. Thanks to the geographical characteristics of the territory, Cinque Terre is considered one of the most iconic attractions in Italy and in Europe. Amongst the rough and rugged, mountainous landscape, these five unique seaside villages arise, as if from the sea. The first of the villages from the west, as well as the biggest, is Monterosso. Here you can find beaches, restaurants, craft shops and small shops where you can taste typical products. Moving on you will find the villages of Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and finally Riomaggiore, all unique in their own way. In Vernazza, you can taste fresh fish every day at one of the numerous restaurants. In Corniglia, perched on a rock almost 100 meters high, you can enjoy an unobstructed view. And Manarola and Riomaggiore, both very similar, arise from the top of the hill and descend towards the sea into a narrow long valley that follows the river. The colourful houses on the rocky shores make each special in their own way. Along the coast there are many trails that allow you to walk from one village to the next, passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes. The work of the farmers, over the years, has shaped the territory. And today, these famous terraces have become one of the most characteristic and enchanting landscapes of Liguria. The remarkable terraces were created using a very specific "dry stone wall" technique. A technique that takes advantage of the land that slopes towards the sea. On the terraced landscape, you will find vineyards growing grapes to make wine. There are mainly white grape varieties like Bosco, Albarola, Trebbiano and Vermentino. From these grapes quality wines like Wine DOC "CINQUE TERRE" and the famous raisin wine "Sciachetra" are created.
